2014 Christmas in the Village
DEC. 1, 2014 - Pictured above are a few of the entries in the 2014 Christmas Parade,
including those of several local businesses and members of the Millington High School band.
Below are some miscellaneous photos from this year's Christmas in the Village,
including three of our four Christmas Belles, and Boy Scout Troop 552 selling
wreaths in front of Millington Insurance. The young Scout whose name is Tannis is pictured with
Les Benner and the male winner of our costume contest, Rick Watkins.
Mr. Watkins is also pictured in Rotary Park with Brooklyn Bassett, who was the winner
of the costume contest in the female category.
The winner of the door decorating contest, pictured at the bottom left, was Millington Baptist Church.

25th Annual 'Christmas in the Village'
The Christmas Belles; Michele Mahoney, Sue June, Vicki Reed and Tia Lutze started working on the program for this years events last January. With approval from the Chamber of Commerce many new ideas have been added and the details are still being finalized. The 'Christmas Spirit Contest' entry forms have been given out at businesses in Millington, the entry forms are available at the Mayville State Bank, each business entered will be judged on originality and creativity celebrating the 25th year of 'Christmas in the Village'.
First Place winner will be announced and receive $50.00 at 5pm at the Rotary Park Christmas Tree. The Chamber is sponsoring a 1900-1910 Costume Contest -One male and one female dressed in period costume will win $50.00, each person wishing to compete must be at the Rotary Park Christmas Tree at 4:00 pm to be judged.
The 2nd Annual Lighted Tractor Contest will start with the Tractors lining up at the Millington Arbela District Library for the Parade, following the parade the tractors will line up in front of the Museum for judging by the public. Winner based on best lighting will receive a trophy. Last years winner Andre Stratton
will be back again this year to defend his title.
Millington Insurance has offered their front porch to Boy Scout Troop 552 to sell Christmas Wreaths as well as other fresh Evergreen Christmas Decoration.
Mr Randy Guinther, MHS Industrial Arts Teacher, is working with his students creating small toys for children to put together at Santa's Toy Shop in Downtown Millington this year.
MHS Band Director , W. Hefflefinger, is working with the band on Christmas music for the parade. The Ministrial Alliance, pastors representing the local churches , are working to provide carolers for the Festivities.
Mrs. Bernice Gray, Millington Needy Families and The Millington Food Pantry
were notified that starting next week there will be 3 Christmas Helper Bell Ringers stationed around town collecting for these two groups. Whatever is collected will be split evenly. Anyone wanting to volunteer please call 871-3948 and sign up for a time. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Please continue to follow the papers for more information as well as the bulletin board at Rosati's and other businesses around the community.
McDonald Chevrolet has again offered to donate to cover the cost of the
DJ and Christmas Music as well as the many vehicles they use to transport VIP's
including Mrs. Claus. SAVE THE DATE Monday December 1, 2014 some of the festivities start at 4:00pm and the parade at 6:00 pm.

The Chamber's 3rd Annual Business Expo was held on
February 17, 2011 at the Millington Community Center.
The 2nd Annual Millington Chamber of Commerce Business Expo was held on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at the Millington Community Center.
